This is a simple hand speed drill that all athletes will find useful, regardless of sport or position. Start by putting markers on the ground to act as points of contact for the hands. We’ve arranged our with a total of 8 points: 2 for the starting position (which is the pushup position) and 6 for the points to touch. The 6 points you see our athlete hitting can be thought of as the following times on the clock: 1, 11, 3, 9, 5, 7. The goal is to hit one point, and then return to the starting position as quickly as possible. The athlete performing in this video is going slow for demonstration purposes, but is also using a resistance band to help train for explosion. This is a drill that anyone can benefit from. Perform 5 rounds through each point for 1 set, and perform 3-5 sets.
